Social Justice Committee

The Social Justice Committee (SJC) is a standing committee tasked primarily with coordinating twice-monthly dedicated offerings from the congregation to local organizations serving acute needs.  In addition, as of May 2015, the SJC oversees task forces that focus on particular causes: Feed Our Hungry Neighbors (FOHN), Anti-Racism, and Green Living.

Dedicated Offerings

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Muncie collects a Dedicated Offering during the worship service on every first and second Sunday as a way of putting our faith into action and promoting social justice locally and around the world. Dedicated offerings can be taken for one-time projects or to help established organizations in their ongoing work.

If you did not attend a worship service on the first or second Sunday and would still like to make a contribution to a particular organization, just send a check made payable to Unitarian Universalist Church of Muncie and write the name of the recipient organization on the memo line.  Please mail it before the end of the month to the church office at 4800 West Bradford Drive, Muncie, IN 47304, to ensure that it becomes part of the special collection.

Dedicated Offerings are managed by the Social Justice Committee. Any member or friend of the Church may nominate a project or organization for an offering by completing and sending in the nomination form to uucm@uuchurchmuncie.org.
